On the one ski run (experts only, not monitored by the ski patrol) that descends from the hut at the peak, you get great views of the surrounding mountains, as well as of the town of Obergurgl, where we stayed. You can also see the nervewracking single-person chairlift that brings you up to the peak in the lower right-hand corner. Sunbathers and anyone who just wanted to eat at the restaurant in the hut could descend without braving the ski run by taking the chair down - a frigid but presumably beautiful slow-motion ride.
