The Glorietta

Schonbrunn Palace grounds
The huge, classical structure at the top of the hill is called the Glorietta, and I have no idea what purpose, if any, it served. In this photo, the palace is directly behind the photographer, so the Glorietta was visible from all of the upstairs windows in the back, and it certainly made for a pretty view. Unfortunately, the icy paths and an imminent train toward Munich prevented us from walking to the Glorietta and checking it out up close.
