Court of the Lions

This is the Court of the Lions, named for the figures that support the massive marble fountain in the center. It is very impressive in person, what with the huge fountain and proliferation of arches, and apparently it served important state functions back in the day. Incidentally, this is one of many examples of the use of water that I mentioned earlier, and here you can actually see the drainage troughs going off to each side and straight toward the camera.
