Cathedral of Sevilla/la Giralda

Part of the cathedral as seen from a window of la Giralda, the minaret-turned-bell tower attached to the cathedral. If you look closely enough, you can see a cute gargoyle near the middle of the photo, attached to the tower in the foreground but camouflaged by the fancy fence-like thing behind it. Incidentally, one of my favorite aspects of the design of la Giralda is that the entire climb up is on a ramp, not stairs. The ramp is an original design feature, intended not for wheelchair access (though I guess it could be used for that now, with a seriously energetic person pushing) but to allow the muezzins to ride up the minaret on horseback rather than having to climb up themselves (and perhaps risk being too winded to perform the call to prayer properly).
