Cathedral of Sevilla

The patio of the orange trees, which seems to be a design element common to all of the great mosques of Andalucia. They are all orderly and peaceful, made even more relaxing by the central fountains that used to keep water flowing constantly through grooves running all over the patio. I don't know why the Catholics kept the patios intact when they converted the moques into cathedrals, but they seem to have (unless these were reconstructed later?) both here and at the Mesquita in Cordoba.
